“Selling” as an important human trait.
As humans evolved through time, there was one thing that supercharged our evolution as intelligent beings. This element was that of communication and specifically language and speech.
Through language and speech we could create stories and have people believe in things that we’re not apparent. Myths became driving forces of social cohesion and organisation much like today’s companies.
To do all this humans had the powerful tool of language to convince people and move each other towards an idea. This trait is overtly reflected today when you get a cold call by a salesperson selling something. Now while you dislike that cold calling salesperson, you’re doing the same when you convince your friend to visit a restaurant of your choice.
